#1Coconut Curry tofu bowl, or #2 Spicy Lemongrass Tofu bowl in that order but Both are Fabulous!
Great food, great service
Coconut curry shrimp baco, Creamy spicy shrimp baco, key lime pie with Kim chi mango were all delicious.
The service is always quick and their servers are always patient. The food is delicious! I've never had their pho but I'm sure its delicious also. I go for the Bacos. This place in a great little nook but the parking is horrible. Its in a trendy part of town and has that type of crowd attraction but is a great place.
Great food and fast service. Loved the bao bun tacos (bacos) unique flavors and were delicious. Also had the octopus balls, they were different but in a good way. Overall great experience.
It's perfectly fine. No the best Vietnamese food I've had, but good. Service was surprisingly attentive for a very busy night. The banh mi ("po boy") is just alright, a little light on the meat/fillings. Fried egg rolls are a lighter, crispier shell than most places... tastes good but holds much more oil if that matters to you. All in all I'd give it 3 stars for the food but 4 for the service. Note that, although it is called a Canteen, they do not serve beer/alcohol.... it's BYO apparently.
Get the Spring Rolls and the Bacos, holy my tobleroni, unless you are allergic to nuts... The rolls come with a sauce that has peanuts in it.. Just don't get the sauce but in Slang terms THIS PLACE HAS THE SAUCE
Best Vietnamese food I have ever tasted! EVER!
Love this place! It's BYOB so grab a bottle of wine beforehand and they'll bring you glasses. The spring rolls and kimchi fries are delicious as well as the bacos - definitely try them if you're eating here! Service was very friendly and very quick. Great meal and good prices.
Excellent food and service!! Will definitely return !
Really dirty place, not a good atmosphere. Too bad, because the food is good.
We came on a Friday night and the place was full of young college students. We came 1.5 hours before closing time (10pm) and there was a wait about 30 minutes. They have a lot of options on the menu, especially for "bacos" (bun + taco). There are interesting desert options too. I got the Saigon tofu vermicelli which was ok. I'd say it's not a place for traditional Vietnamese tastes but if you want some more modern and creative option this is a nice place to check out.
I really enjoyed the food and the outdoor seating is excellent.
The Ba Chi ramen was phenomenal!
The bacos are amazing, but they’re expensive! I can’t eat here all the time. But when I can, I know my taste buds are in for a treat. 😍😍😍 #BacoLoverNumber1
Food was good. Service was good, as well
Delicious kimchi fries. Great baco's - my favorite is the coconut shrimp curry. May not be the best of the best Vietnamese in town, but it's very good!
Loses a star for only being BYOB, but food is excellent
Liked the food a lot. Brisket baco is delicious
very pleasantly surprised 🙂
Great food not so great service
Huge selection, everything we had was very good. Fast service by friendly staff, good prices.
Best Vietnamese food in the city hands down. Same family as Mint and Tan Dinh, so they know what they’re doing. It’s a must have!
Incredible food a little pricy but food and atmosphere were great I had the spicy wonton ramen a great pick.
Delicious! Definitely on our list every time we visit New Orleans!
Good food, great service!
Tasty flavors with a quality menu, and thankfully priced so you come back for more
Excellent Food. Great Value. My daughter and her friends go all the time. Can't go wrong.
Thai Chicken Curry had deep and complex flavors that made for a great meal.
Literally, amazing. Combination pho was perfect. Bacos are to die for.
The tofu bao was sooooo good. Very cute spot, made me feel at home.
The Kim Chi Fries are one of my new favorite dishes I've ever had, I highly recommend them.
Pretty good place. I like that it feels cozy.
Not great for large groups but good food and okay service. Hopefully just a busy night.
Authentic, freshly cooked, delicious and generous portions. Add to that friendly and quick service, and you got a 5-star experience.
This is by far my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. I have lived hear for almost seven years now and have never liked anything as much as I like ba chi. The food is great, the location is good, the staff is very friendly, and the overall vibe of the place is near perfection. My favorite order will always be a coconut curry chicken baco and a sweet chili chicken baco with Kim chi fries. I found Ba Chi around four years ago and have gone many times since. At one point, about 3 years ago, I was going there so often that the employees recognized me and knew my order. I have ordered once during lockdown and will definitely order again.
Nice atmosphere with good food and great staff.
Very fresh and well prepared, excellent service!
Great atmosphere, inexpensive great food with excellent service....
A refreshing new take on traditional Vietnamese cuisine. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the menu had plenty of items for everyone. The food was delicious and very creative. The atmosphere was very cozy and clean. The management came out personally and spoke with us to make sure our experience was good. We will definitely be back.
My first time eating Vietnamese. I was skeptical at first but we ended up actually eating here two nights in a row! It was so delicious. I will be stopping here everytime I visit New Orleans.
Debbie provided fabulous service. Fabulous cultural atmosphere. The food was amazing. Their Jasmine tea is awesome.
Great food and service. I loved the bun and every appetizer we had was amazing.
The pho is perfect for a cool day. We ordered only one to split because the portions are very generous.
So good🙌🙌🙌🙌
Great place for Vietnamese food. The pho and spring rolls are amazing. The place is mostly filled with students living nearby.
Amazing Vietnamese food. I love the idea of the bacos and the chicken ones were especially tasty. Flavorful pho as well.
Great food and excellent , ba chi spring rolls were delicious
Best Vietnamese I've ever had. Egg rolls to die for. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Definitely a must after a good night on the town.
The pho here was alright, but the noodles were a little over cooked. The bacos really stole the show here. They also have banh mi sandwiches here for $7.Iced French drip coffee w/condense milk $4.25Beef pho combination (rare flank, brisket, and beef ball) $10.75Creamy spicy shrimp po'boy/banh mi $9 - This was ok, looks more delicious than it taste.Soft shell crab baco $7.50 - My favorite dish here. Pork belly baco $3.75 - Delicious!Kimchi fries $5.25 - Pretty good fries. There's 4 parking spots next to the restaurant and free street parking available. The streets in this area are pretty narrow.
Ba Chi Canteen is Delightful, A Small Cozy Place with Indoor and Outdoor Seating, very Charming. We had a Lovely Waitress, who was so Helpful with The Menu, The Food was Appealing to Look at and Even Better to Eat. Everything we Ordered was Fabulous. I will Definitely come back, Next time I am in Town. A Nice Place!
